Pentas Balija: Wujud Keberagaman Budaya
Waria dan anak jalanan sudah memiliki penonton dan tempat pementasannya sendiri, demikian pula dengan tarian Jathilan dan Barongsai. Ketika waria, anak jalanan, etnis Tionghoa dan etnis Jawa lebur dalam sebuah pementasan bersama, pada hari kelahiran dasar Negara RI Pancasila, 1 Juni 2011, pentas itu menjadi tidak lagi biasa. Ruang pementasan di Benteng Vredenburg yang seharusnya hanya memuat 1000 orang menjadi penuh sesak oleh penonton dari awal hingga akhir. Masyarakat umum, kalangan pers, organisasi masyarakat dan sosial, anak-anak, turut menyaksikan pentas ini. Bahkan walikota Jogja yang membuka pentas berdurasi kurang lebih 2 jam ini dengan bersemangat menyampaikan orasi tentang kebangsaan.
Dengan penuh gaya yang menjadi ciri khas masing-masing komunitas, pentas Balija menceritakan penolakan komunitas anak jalanan akan keputusan sang ...
